Concentric circles and motion blur for a whirlwind election. Stars and punchy blue and red were a nod to the greater NBC News Decision 2020 art direction that we’ve mimicked throughout our digital coverage.
Kara Haupt began the art direction in 2019 and carried it through 2020, while I led and executed the Presidential Election through much of 2020. Illustrations were used on digital stories, including our weeks-long Election Live Blog, on live video streams and on the mobile app.
