MSNBC DAILY: political pop

MSNBC Daily is a digital opinions section that launched on msnbc.com in October 2020. Collaborating with editors, platforms editors, product designers and other stakeholders, the NBC News and MSNBC art department conceptualized an art direction to visually communicate the new, voice-y, opinionated section:

"Colors would be bold; illustration would be direct, clever and even a little humorous; photography would be punchy, with high-contrast black and white and pops of color."

The result? We like to call it "Political Pop."

To date, we’ve created over 250 illustrations for MSNBC Daily: we readily respond to and thoughtfully conceptualize the rapidly changing news cycle that drives the opinionated content.

Illustrations are primarily conceptualized and created by Anjali Nair, the editorial designer for MSNBC, while I art direct, commission and contribute illustrations, and photo edit.
